Ordered mine...

Well after many months of lurking here I finally ordered my exhaust.

Roush O/R for my '05 FX4 Flareside from Woodhouse.

Looking forward to my new exhaust set up.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Roush offroad

I installed mine yesterday. Im glad I got the O/R not the legal. It sounds just how I wanted it. Nice tone , quiet when you want it to be. Sounds great when you start it up. And not too loud in the cab. The only issue I have is with the hanger on the right tailpipe . I believe it wasnt welded on as it should have been. It is at an angle not straight as the other side is, resulting in a 3/4 " difference in the measurement from the end of the tube. The right tailpipe wont align properly, it points slightly outward and doesnt let the tip to protrude out from under the bumper the same distance as the left side. I could cut 3/4 of an inch off the left side to equal them out , but the right side would still have a slight outward angle. Im going to contact Roush tomorrow and see if they will send me a replacement for the questionable piece. I didnt spend $500. exptecting to have to modify and rectify things. Oh yeah .Removal 1 hour. Install 1/2 an hour. messing with the alignment of the tips at least another 1/2 hour and still not satisfied.

Hopefully you purchased the correct kit, theres kits meant for 2004, and then theres 2005 - 2008s. Its not too hard to buy the wrong one then have some fabbing to do.

I experienced the exact same fitment issue with my Roush Off Road Exhaust. After verifying the kit was correct for my particular application, I ended up taking the parts to a professional exhaust shop for installation. Essentially they ended up cutting & welding pipe to make everything look and fit correctly. So yeah, after spending $500.00 initially on the kit, I spent another $240.00 to rectify poor fitment. In retrospect I wish I would have addressed the issue with the manufacturer prior to installation

Fedex guy just dropped it off and now I'm itching to get it swapped out.

Anyone have any issues other than fitment while doing their swap?

laterz,
Mike

Nope - just fitment issues. The setup looks and sounds great

Two hours total for the swap and it sounds awesome... bout time my truck sounded like a truck. No issues with fitment either. Looks good from both sides and the rear.
