Magnaflow muffler questions

So i need some help picking out a muffler as I am planning on just swapping the stock muffler out and possibly putting a tip on. Does a tip have anything to do with the sound? I pretty much have my mind set on a magnaflow. I am looking for a muffler thats louder than stock, but not too loud and would like it to have a nice sound with no drone. I was looking at the 18" and 22", just dont know which one. Ive heard the 22" is barely louder than stock. So im not sure about the 22". But ive heard the 18" has drone on the highway. Also what would be the difference in a 5x8 and a 4x9 muffler? which part number for the 18" and 22" would fit the best?

Mangaflow 18" is just right for you.

It wont drone bad, hardly any.

Tips help the exhaust system sound deeper, and ablity to hear it a bit further away. They act as a megaphone. They wont make it blasting loud or nothing like that, just gives it that nice deep toned metallic growl, and not to mention looks much better than a stock steel pipe.

Get a 2.5" in/out single muffler, and a 2.5" in 3.5" out tip and ou will be quite happy with it.

Does it matter if the muffler inlets and outlets are offset or not? or should i just look at the stock one and get the one that is the closest to that?

I have the side swept kit with an 18" muffler. I get no drone at all from neighborhood speeds all the way up to the governor.

Smaller=Louder I have the 14"L 4" magnapacks and even with the side exit, it is nice and quiet on the highway, 18" is loud(er) but not loud enough IMO.

Nope. Just different styles for however the install will go. Measure the distance of the exhaust pipe from the pipe to the under body, & determine if a offset inlet or off set inlet is what you need. Most take off set inlet for best fitment. For instance, the exhaust under my Chevy needed off set inlet due to the angle.

Notice there is plenty of under bed space, so I ordered off set inlet so they tucked under well.
