Duals or Dump Opinion

Guys, I have '07 F150 Supercrew 4x4 and want to upgrade the sound of my exhaust. Should I run duals straight out the back with stainless tips or should I dump so you can't see the pipes? Since I have a 4x4, what would look better? Any opinions?

I wouldn't run straights out the back, it sounds like trash IMO. If you are on a budget and these are the only two options, dump it, if you can afford a good setup, go true duals, with an x-pipe and magnaflows or borlas, something nice.

I no pretty much nothing about exhaust other than I like the sound of it... if i run true duals with an x pipe, i guess i would have 2 pipes coming out the back? maybe with 3 1/2" tips?

Yea, I would advise putting mufflers on it if you run it out the back. My vids are below of my setup, but out the back changes the sound comp. I had 3.5" tips with my flowbastards and changed them to 4", they sounded alot better than the 3.5".

This is the set up I have but with 3" tips. If you like it loud skip the mufflers and the X pipe. I just added and X pipe and it cut the sound by half. I like the way it sounds with and without the X pipe I just did not like the popping you would get with out the X.

X doesnt reduce loudness at all, I had with and without and the sound is no different. It changes the tone and increases the scavenging, and always no matter what improves performance. If your x changed the sound, then it is junk.

Okay I have to ask, what exactly is an X pipe? I wander if this comes standard with duals or should I request it?

The consensus from what I have seen on this forum is that it does indeed reduce loudness. I can tell you for a fact it did on my set up. As for my x pipe being junk, it looks good to me. It is a custom made one as I added it after the rest of my exhaust was already done. The guy said he built it after the Magnaflow x pipe and it does look very close, it is just not stainless steal.

An X pipe looks just like an X. Both sides of your exhaust meet in the middle. You would have to request it.

It balances both sides of your exhaust by mixing them together and creates some back pressure which in turn improves torque.

Here's mine, there is no standard true dual system it wo't be standard, my setup ran me $160, and it sounds better IMO than any catback.
