Cool

I install all kinds of exhaust every day but I have a Magnaflow 18in. on my 06 using dual out and using the existing r/side pipe and making the l/side pipeto match. I didnt want too much noise and have used Flow masters on all my other cars but found this combination to be really good, not too loud to drive you nuts in the cab but loud enough upon acceleration to sound really good. I installed a aftermarket Flowmaster kit today that had a 40 series muffler and dual out that sounded really good but it rapped a little upon decel and was a little too noisy in the cab. I did get about 2 1/2 more miles per gallon of gas but it went back down after installing the new K&N intake system but did increase response and torque with both....Dog

I had the Gibson SideSwept SI/SO on my SCrew. It was great. Had a low rumble at idle, but at highway speeds, I could barely hear it in the cab. I just ordered the same for my new SCab.

I prefer the Magnaflow for these trucks. Good deep tone and minimal power/gas mileage gains.

Aren't you supposed to get better gas milage with both an intake and exhaust?

Is this true even on the '97-'03 f150's as well? I thought if you reset your computer it would accomodate to the increased airflow on its own.

It will minimally, but until the truck is overall re-tuned for every modification it has the power is still hidden in there waiting to be released.

sorry to steal the thread, but..if you get both a CAI and new exhaust how pointless would it be w/o a new tune then? granted i know the '97-'03s don't have the same probability of running lean like the '04s but..i'd hate to spend the money on an intake an exhaust only for them to sort of offset each others gains because i don't get a new tune after installing them... again, sorry for stealing the thread. but thanks for the help
