AirRaid intake

I have been reading a lot on this thread and am looking into an intake. Seems Airraid is most popular but I am finding the cold air intake and the intake jr when I search online. What are most of you using and where is the best price?

Thanks in advance!

I had an Airaid on my o7 5.4l and I wasn't happy with it. It made a terrible noise at lower RPM's. I returned it and got an AF1 from Troyer Performance. It looks better and sounds better. Take a look at that one.

I have no experience with the Air Raids in particular, but I've heard great things about S&B and AF1.

I sell AF1, S&B, K&N and AEM, let me know if you have any questions

I have the Roush version which is made by airaid & at times it drones very bad at. An example is when I'm out on the highway and I go to accelearte from in the 1600-2000 rpm range. I just received my xcal3 the other day so maybe it will help out some with the droning noise. I really haven't had a good chance to test it yet as the weather here in Indiana hasn't been the best yet.

Here's a pic of the 3" AF1 on my '05 4.6L Screw..

No droning, no vibrations, very nice growl from under the hood. Very noticeable increase in throttle response, especially at about 3500 rpm and above. That one mod made merging/passing MUCH easier.

Good luck with that. Not trying to be a wisea$$, I just thought the same...got custom Troyer tunes, and the drone is still there with the Volant.

Actually, just another .02 here..

Before I got Troyers tunes the AF1 made some very noticebale "whooshing" sounds when gettin' on the pedal. Not aggravating, just there. With any of the tunes loaded the "whoosh" isn't there. Still there when I return to stock tune.

Just think it's interesting, not sure why the difference.

I have the Airaid and it def. provided a noticeable increase in throttle respose, however, the drone is horrible at 1800 rpm. People ask me what is wrong with my truck when they ride in it. I am going to try something different in the very near future to see if other intakes do not have the annoying drone! Don't get it!

With the AF1 the comments I get from passengers are along the lines of, "Wow, nice sound..."

Just a nice V-8 growl.

I had the S&B and it droned when I ran it with the superchips tuner without it there was no drone. I put the airaid jr on and no drone with or without tuner.
