Each resonator should have two O2 bungs each. I wonder how they let something like that out the door. How do you miss that?

Did you read the thread? Mine were the same way...on the pass. side and I got the non-"L" kit. Mine were made July 07. I got them from Tuner Depot and they sent me a new one with a call tag. I called OBX and they asked for my auction info, then had TD call me back in less than 5 min.

How much do you guys think a set of those OBX would cost to have installed on a 2001 5.4? ballpark..
thanks in advance

That bad huh?? I wonder why it costs so much if people like build can do it in like 4 hours....I on the other hand have next to no experience in the exhaust department....so i feel like this may be something that i would mess up if i tried it. i did a body lift but things with the engine scare the mess out of me...so would an install cost more then the 500 headers themselves??

You could knock it out in a weekend, but I like to plan for the worst. See, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable with a body lift.

When built did his in 4 hours, hewasn't removing the stock manifolds. I believe he was removing shorties he put on before and replacing them with long tubes. He didn't have to deal so much with the rusty manifolds and studs. Plus he had experience from the past installs he did.

Bad news:

The pass. side will not work on a 4.6L. There's plenty of room for it up by the control arm brackets, but it it won't lay down on the bottom side of the header flange because of the starter. If you look close, you can see the marks I made where it does / will hit if it were laying flat. It's about 1/2" off from it.

It looks like I can turn the #2 tube there, but #4 looks more complicated. Not sure if I can find someone willing to give it a go, or how much it would cost.

Your thoughts...??? Is it time to start selling and looking for a complete shorty header kit or push on? I HATE to spend that much money for little to no gains.

If I do bail on them, who has the best, most well designed shorties FOR 2001 4.6L 4x4's? Does any make aftermarket mid-pipes for shorties?

Man that sucks. You could still go long tube though. Pacesetter makes long tubes specifically for the 4.6. Downside is they're not stainless. It's got to be better than going with shorties.

They make them specifically for an 01 4.6L 4x4, or they'll supposedly work on an 01 4.6L 4x4? All I've heard is that they need modified except for shifty who has a 2WD.

I thought they did. I could be wrong. What's jbrew running? He has a 4wd 4.6 doesn't he? I know he's using Pacesetter.

EDIT... My mistake. He has a 5.4 also. You can always call Pacesetter and see what they tell you.
