For all of you who have experience with these CAI's what did you get out of them? As of now I cannot hear any drone or whistleing, but my pipes and tires are decently loud. Did you see any improvements is fuel economy or power gain?

I've got the K&N CAI. All I can say is it is the best mod I've ever bought for my truck! Don't get the throttle body spacer tho, its just a paperweight and makes a loud whistling noise, no performance whatsoever!

I am running an AFE CAI and it has worked out pretty well, the only thing you should be prepared for is the change in your mid-range power. It was a noticable decrease, that was only returned after I bought a power programmer.

SemperFi, I've got the AFE and noticed the same thing, did the stock program help that much, was it difficult to program?

I have the Roush CAI, and I did notice a nice improvement in power. Seems to pull much better through the entire throttle range.

The biggest thing I have noticed is when driving with the cruise set, in overdrive, it does not shift down nearly as much when I encounter inclines in the road.

Oh, and it idles so much smoother than stock. I cant even tell my truck is running most of the time.

As far as fuel economy, I dont know yet.

I do have a whistle under hard acceleration. Cant hear it over the radio though.

Not always

I am probably getting better milage when cruising at highways speeds due to it staying in a higher gear, which means lower RPM's.

But, for city driving, I know I am getting less because of how I drive it now.

since no one in this thread as answered your question, i will. I have the airaid and i have noticed power gains. I put it on about a year ago, but from when it was stock to when i put it on, my truck had a lot more giddyup when i got on it.

So you are saying all Aftermarket intakes are lying when they say better fuel economy?

Ya, I can attest to that! I got my throttle body spacer for free with the purchase of my AirAid CAI. All it does is whistle, and nothing else! What a waist of my time installing it!

As for the AirAid CAI, I LOVE IT!! It has a great throaty roar when you put your foot in it, and I have noticed an increase in mid range power, like when your on the on ramp getting onto the freeway, and there is a semi truck hauling *** that you have to merge with...That's when I really noticed the difference!! As for better MPG, I haven't noticed much. In all reality, it might add 20 MPG while driving like a grandma, but I would never know because I always have my foot in it and have fun playing with it. All in all, I would highly recommend the AirAid CAI.
