Check Engine Light
Check Engine Light
I recently purchassed and installed AEM brute force CAI. Everything went great until I got in and went to town and my CEL came on. I came home and checked everything, then reset my battery. The engine light stayed off all the next day, but this morning on my way to school it came back on. I have read that if the engine is running lean it could trip the CEL. Why does the light only come one sometimes if this is the case? I have not been able to make a trip to autozone yet to get it checked. The truck still runs fine and everything, no problems at idle. What could be the problem?
Did you clean the MAF well before installing the new intake? You have more air flying by that sensor now. The PCM will not be able to adjust mixtures properly if the air coming in isn't getting metered correctly..
I will try to get it read as soon as possible. But the nearest autozone is 30 miles away, and at 10mpg at 2.95a gallon I try to limit my trips up there. I have some electrical contact cleaner at my house though. After removing it do you spray all of it, just the part that hangs in the tube, or what?
