How loud will high flow cats be?
High flows
Your exhaust wont be much louder as compared to deeper. The high flows are much less restrictive, they allow the engine to "breathe" better and give you the deeper sound or tone, especially w/the 40 series FM's you have. You'll probably notice the sound a bit louder, but not as much as how nice your truck sounds w/ the high flows.Good luck.

i have magnaflow tips with flowmaster. they are great tips, stay shiny, didnt get messed up when my gf backed into a gravel/dirt/sod pile. it was weird to me at first but i got over it real quick because they look great.
i also have high flow cats and it sounds much better than before. i recommend them and magnaflow for a brand. i got maggie tips and maggie high flows...with a flowmaster, maybe not the best set up but when i take off at night to make a beer run i wake up people in the dorms...i love it.
I'm currently overseas, but will be home in a few weeks...gonna pick up an '08 Supercab 4x4 5.4L. As I understand there are 4 factory cats and 4 o2 sensors. How do you go about eliminating two of the cats and replacing with just 2 high flows? where do you route the extra 02 sensors? can they just be tapped inline on the 2.5" pipe roughly in the original location of the old factory cats? I plan on using 16616 (magna dual exit side system) and the maggie high flow cats, also replace manifolds with headers, don't know what kind yet though. I was thinking longtube (don't have a particular brand in mind) or the Banks torque tubes. Anyone with any luck on the torque tubes? I don't know of anyone with them yet. Also installing a Banks ram air intake.
As far as the Maggie system, how is it for stability? is it a firm fit (as in no bouncing around). I know these are alot of questions, but I've been here for a year putting it all together! lol. The Maggie exhaust I can pick up for around $500, don't know how much the cats are, I think the torque tubes are around $450, and the intake is $300. I know it's kinda steep for it all at once, but I've been saving just a lil bit! Hehe, thanks for any info

The Magnaflow Hi-Flow cats wouldn't be a bad idea, just get a pair of them and set it up just like the factory does their cats. I'd get a set of Pacesetter long tubes over everything else out there and the price isn't too bad either.
The Magnaflow systems are high quality, you don't need to worry about that.
Now about the intake, what intake were you considering going with? I'm hoping you're going to be doing a tuner as well otherwise I'd just hold off until you can do both. My suggestion is to get a S&B intake from Jegs which should be about $230 with free shipping, pretty cheap. Now onto the tuner, I'd get a Xcal2 from Justin at VMP Tuning. I can assure you that you'll without a doubt LOVE this combination. www.VMPTUNING.com
I hope this helps you out a little bit!
