Help with Muffler guy
My muffler guy said the same thing... said he does all the F150's at the dealerships in town and they all get the flowmaster systems. I was not going to argue so I did the same thing. Seat of the pants felt like I gained some power for sure... and it sounds awesome... maybe the HP increase was wishful thinking... all well.
Personally, I won't go true duals unless Im going headers all the way back. If your'e not going to beef up your motor that much, the cat back system will suit you just fine.
I put true duals on 2 of my old hot rods and loved it, but I also built the hell out of those motors. When I got my 2004 FX4, I again wanted the true duals, but really had no intention of beefing up the motor that much and then my logical thinking jumped in.
The extra backpressure from a cat back SIDO cat back system will actually get you a tad bit more HP then true duals from the Y back.
Also, I'd love to know where you guys are going for these rates, haha. I was quoted $500 bucks out the door for a 3" cat back exhaust with a SIDO Flowmaster 40.

Will get the magnaflow I must have talked to 20 shops most push flows(midas) is the worst at pushing flows
and some say on F150 you will not hear much sound from the magnaflo.

Damn, why is the stuff up here so pricey!
It's a tough decision for me because I don't like to just pick random shops out of the phone book, I prefer to go with shops where people I know have had experience with.
The guy that quoted me the $500 out the door claims to use 3" pipe all the way, with a SIDO flow, I didn't ask which flow, but it better be at least a 40 series, if not the Super 44.
After seeing some of these posts, I'm seriously thinking of just buying my own muffler and then have a shop just custom the piping. Thing is, I really like the way the Flows sound, but the loss of torque on the low end freaks me out. As of now, I don't do alot of towing, so it may not be that noticeable of an issue. I'll take the HP's though.
