proper way to make sure the computer is reset is once the batter is unhooked turn your lights on or open your door to make sure the juice is right drained. Most times it will reset prperly but not always
i did this mod last night on a 4.6L 06 and i had the battery unhooked for an hour and everything, after driving it this morning i can't tell any real difference...i was wary of doing this mod but figured it couldn't actually hurt anything to try was i right in assuming this?

Never heard of that. There would have to be a capacitor somewhere.
??
Well, I guess a digital odometer might have one, but I doubt it. It's prolly just a progressive chip.
Did you here this or read it somewhere?

both.... I forget where I have read it before, I think it is in the manual even. But on almost all vehicles they have that little light under the hood (that works) which drains it. My little light I have to give it a little bit of a wiggle once in a while to make sure that it connects properly. The pcm itself actually retains some itself. Have you ever unhooked the battery and it not reset the radio stations? I have once on this truck and on my 98 escort.
