Well, that's interesting. I'll have to try that - I didn't think they where adjustable. Well, I have a 99 TB on mine now - maybe that one is - if not , I'll make it adjustable if it's higher than 99 on the voltmeter ..

Christmas is around the corner- I think I'll treat myself while I'm out hunting down a few gifts. I'll look for this thread or post up a new when I do her.

Anyone else do this ? I haven't seen this before on this site, have on others. I was just wondering why ? I realize that some TPS Sensors are the non-adjustable type , but they can be made adjustable which is probably what I will have to do to obtain said results from past posts.

Please post up if there's unwanted repercussions from attempting this mod ..

i had an 01 dodge ram 4x4 360 that i did this too-drilled out the brass bushings that the bolts went through to mount it-this gave it some "adjustabilty"mine was way off set it to optimum voltage- night and day in throttle response-phil

Just got done with the TPS adjustment. original voltage= 1.13. new=.989
benefits: increased smoothness of idle . throttle response is better than it was. I used two safety pins bent at 90 degree angles to reach behind the plug to read the wires out.
the TPS screws were on there pretty tight, and had to use some liquid wrench on them. Whose idea was this anyway? thanks whoever it was!

Got rid of the factory intake in my Expedition today! The factory intake is over 4" where it goes into the air filter but only 2.25" where it comes through the fender well. I replaced it with a piece of 4" thin wall Sewer pipe, a 4" to 3" adapter and a piece of 3" through the fender well. The Ex seems to breathe a lot easier now and there is no noticeable difference in noise!

 

um.. where is your filter? pcv pipe absorbs a LOT of heat FYI

The 3 valve motors have a Cartridge filter. Right below the 5.4 in this pic is one of the clips that hold the filter in. The big can i took off was a silencer. As far as heat goes it shouldn't be any different the the heat that the big plastic can would hold. Now there is a LOT more room for air to move around. It just so happens i bought a Scanguage so i will be able to see the Intake Air Temps with the factory setup and with this one..............
