Will let yall know of any improvements noticed on the newer V6's. I am waiting on the reset w/ battery disconnected.

FYI, on the newer ones, dont worry about pipe color, because you cant even see it.

I have been playing around to see about power, acceleration, response etc. improvement. I think there is a difference and definately worth the $15 and 30min it took to do.

Once I get back to driving it normally, Ill see what it does to MPG's but right now, Im playing around to much to get an accurate reading!

The only way an intake mod will improve economy is when it leans out the air to fuel ratio. Your pcm is set to run the vehicle at a certain A/F ratio and should correct your A/F ratio from the added flow via the intake mod or any aftermarket intake.

I just tried this mod on my 99 and it won't run more than 2 seconds after starting. I put it back to stock and reset my pcm again. The manual says it might need driven, so i drove it for a couple minutes and it runs horribly. Please tell me my truck isn't messed up! Should i reset again or just drive it some more and cross my fingers?

No, you probably haven't seriously messed anything up. If your truck wont run for more than two seconds it sounds like the idle air control valve isn't working or isn't getting air. Either that or you have a massive vacuum leak somewhere. Go through and check the entire intake assembly to see if you have any leaks or if you forgot to connect a hose or sensor.

BTW: Did this mod around 5 months ago, no problems, and immediate increase in throttle response. GOTTS Mod FTW!

Ok now I feel like an idiot. One of the 3/4 inch hoses near the throttle body came off. It is kind of a loose fit and doesn't have a clamp. So I must have bumped it or something. Since i noticed that I re-installed the mod. Instead of unhooking the battery I just took out the PCM fuse the left it out while i cleaned out my garage (it was a mess). Put the fuse back in and WHOA BABY does is work. Took a test drive, got it to around 55 on the highway then "goosed" the gas. It pushed me back in my seat. Thanks for the great Mod and put my name on the already long list.

Hey, Gotts. Did you mod, with the silencer removal and K&N dropin filter. Best thing I've done to my truck! I never tire of the immediate response every time I step on it. I've tried adding my name to the list, but it doesn't show up. Is there a way to add my name? Thanx.
