Intake worth it?

Looking to install the Edge Evolution on my 2006 f150 5.4. My question is will an air intake kit make that much of a differnece with the Edge or am I better off just getting an after market filter?

an intake will give you about another 10-15hp, but it will take more gas, so it's all in the priorities. I don't have one though so i can't tell you if it's worth it or not.

deff. worth it. i have an AF1 and my truck has been running better ever since i put it on. it gave me a nice increase in the throttle response

The throttle response and sound are definitely worth it. I've seen no difference plus or minus in gas mileage that can't be attributed to my mashing the damn pedal.. lol..

Definitely worth it!

I agree. Get one, the sound alone is worth it. The better throttle response is just an added bonus.

The very first thing I ever did to my '06 FX4 was put a intake on it. I noticed the throttle response almost instantly! I did not really notice it using more gas than before. Anyway, the best mods I ever did to my truck was the CAI, Edge and a Magnaflow exhaust!

Love the sound. If there is more gas usage, it's because I love the sound of wide-open throttle

I noticed a small difference in throtle when i put my intake on, the bigger difference came with the exhaust. There was actually a little better gas mileage with the intake (I purposely drove soft to get more mileage), but when i put the exhaust on, that went away. the change in mileage is neglible, though.

So Some Say 10 - 15 Hp. I Highly doubt I got that out of mine! Maybe with Exhaust, headers, and a chip!
