both sound good, but i really like the first one . My buddy just got a 03 5.4 F150 a couple weekends ago... had the truck 6 hours and we cut the exhaust off right before the muffler. Sounded awsome!

The super 40 is pretty quiet in the cab you can hear it but it is not unbarable really.
The no exhaust is pretty loud in the cab when you step on it cant really hear the engine lol only exhaust if that makes sense.
If you want loud no exhaust is for you. and if you want some performance flowmaster sound the super 40 is nice. i was alittle disapointed when i put it on but when i stood outside and someone else drove it i was like wow that is louder then i though it was.

i am not sure how much louder the original 40 would be but i cant imagine it being alot louder maybe just a diffrent tone. i called up flowmaster and they told me that the super 40 would be better for my vehicle. i just went with the super 40 because the inlet was in the right spot and all i had to do is get a pipe upsize and then it would work. the only reason i got the super.

the origional 40 will roar a little more and wont sound as deep as the super 40, 20% louder I would guess

which one would you go with(sido) if you had to do it over? the super 40 or the original 40? Cause i had duel straight pipes on my 98' f150 and i don't want it that loud. I was wondering how the two mufflers would be as far as loudness compared to straight pipes.

I have had both the super 40 on my new truck and the original 40 on my last 150 and i think the super 40 sounds better, its deeper and meaner, the original 40 sounded great and would be poppin when i would let off the throttle, but the sido super is much better in the cab in terms of drone, its real quiet on the highway, if your cruising, and it sounds great when i get on the throttle. go with the super, i love mine. they were both sido
