yea, if the sb has those "feet" then there is no difference between it a banks cept for the lid, but like you looks dont matter to me.

As for getting rid of the maf, I think that would lead the motor to beleive it wasnt getting any air, i think it also has something to do w/ a/f ratios. Im no expert though, I learn from what i read around here

I just installed my Volant and I love it! The install was easy and it looks really good. The the thing that I love the most about it is the new power. It is definitely noticeable, and it's like I have a completely different truck. Also, I put my new exhaust on recently and it seems a little louder. In my opinion I have the perfect setup. The only thing left to do is get it programed. I have been told that hypertech will program my truck for $50 since I am a fireman but I don't know if that is a deal or not. Some of my buddies have said that you don't get the programmer but one guy that has a Ram diesel told me they gave him his.
Anyways, I really think you guys wouldn't be disappointed if you went with Volant. Good luck to you both.

It sounds like a great setup! by chance do you have any pics? Im still torn between the 3, banks is falling farther out though due to the high price. sb or volant is what its boiling down to. Its terrible to be so picky and undesicive You might check out the edge programmer, i have it and love the thing to death. If you can get a discount w/ the hypertech go for it! Have you noticed any power loss w/ the volant at higher rpms, i read that somewhere, it started to lose power at higher rpms?. .

Yeah, I plan to take pics tomorrow after I wash it. I'm going to get some good shots of my new exhaust (for others) and the intake. As far as losing power at higher RPMS, the answer would be no. To be honest with you I just installed it tonight and drove around the neighborhood, off and on the interstate, and back to my house. So, I wanted to just give it a little test run before the wife gets mad because I have been puting all of my attention to my new truck. At WOT, this thing did great and I am very pleased. Like I said, I will have pics in the morning, I promise
As far as the Edge, I'm sure that is something I will be interested in later on down the line. I have just dumped loads of $ on this thing and I just got it. I might chill out for a while, but after reading about it in a lengthy thread on FTW, I definitely think I'll get one.

On the s&b website they show some really tedious way of cleaning and oiling it. do you guys think you could just use the k&n stuff on it??

Well I dont know about your 06 4.6L, but I only have one option for a CAI and thats the AIRAID because the MAF sensor was changed in 06 and from the looks of it the sensor cannot be removed from the intake housing its all one piece. Not sure if all the 06 4.6L's are like this but mine is and it sucks.
