You're good to go...there's plenty of guys on here who run with no mufflers at all..I'm hoping to join that club soon too...

Welcome...if you like the way it sounds, then get an exhaust put on with no muffler. What kind of muffler are you going to put on anyways?

I'm telling ya right now, that 50 series is gonna be waaaaay too quiet for you if you like the no muffler sound. Get the Original 40 series.

How loud will it actually be with the 40 series? I just ordered one for my 2006 supercrew FX4. I like a decent sound...but dont want it overly loud. What about on the highway? Will it be unbearable?

On the highway it's fine, unless you're towing, then you better plan on cranking up the radio. Actually, it depends on what you're towing. On my boat its not so bad. On anything with a flat front, it gets bad. Also, how do you like to drive on the highway? I don't really notice it because I've always got the radio turned way up, unless I'm in traffic or in a construction zone.

I wont be towing anything for the most part...so you've eased my mind a little. I have just been reading that the American Thunder or 40 series are extremly loud and it started to worry me that it would be TOO loud (if thats even possible I ususally drive with music also...I just dont want to have to scream to talk or have to crank the music ALL of the time.

This is the first Ford I have owned and I love how quiet the cab is...I think I will be a Ford truck owner for life!!!

Mine sounds pretty mean around town and when I get on it, but on the highway it seems to calm down a little. I honestly don't hear it when running75-80 up the parkway.

Here's the problem though, all of the SPORTS CAR guy say that they resonate a lot. Well, it's cause they're in a coupe, and are 3 ft from their exhaust tips. We are no less than 6 1/2 feet from the exhaust tips. It's much quieter in the cab. I still wanna hear it more
