Question Flowmaster. Is this the right one. Also any SI/SO Pics??

I am going to order a Flowmaster Super 40 Series for my '04 5.4 XLT and I wanted to make sure I get the right one. I am going to have it installed by a local muffler shop but they can't match the price on Ebay I can get for the muffler. I looked under my truck and it looks like the stock muffler is offset to the left at the front and offset to the right on the exit of the muffler. I am just having the stock muffler replaced and adding a nice chrome tip to the stock tailpipe. This is the muffler I am looking at:

Is this the right configuration and the right diameter of in/out??

I am going to use this tip on the end of the stock tailpipe. Does anyone have any experience with it???

Last thing. If anyone has a SI/SO setup could you please post some pics. I am curious how it looks and what tips people are using.

Yeah that flowmaster will work. It doesn't matter if the stock tailpipe is offset from the inlet, the exhaust shop will bend and weld some pipe to make it all line up. By the way, any flowmaster will work with your truck, just depends on the sound you are looking for. The 40 series sound the best in my opinion...

40 Series

The 40 Series does sound the best. The Super 40 Series is not as aggressive as the Standard 40 Series. I have the Standard on my 2000 Lariat 5.4L and it sounds wonderful. The older they get the better they sound.

Just put a DI / DO Flowmaster 50 series on yesterday. Ran duals straight out the back with 3.5" tips. Just a nice low rumble and no drone, even at highway speeds.

I want people to know that I am coming when I get on it. I don't want a real bad in cab drone though. I had an Original 40 series on my '02 XLT with 5.4 and I was real happy with it. I have never heard the Super 40 though so I don't know how they compare.

I jsut had my local shop put a flowmaster muffler on my truck, dunno what series but I'm guessing 50. It was on a guy I know's Chev and the shop wanted to get rid of it. All they did was cut a little extra pipe on either side of the flowmaster (freakin stock muffler being like 5 feet long!) and used a pipe spreader and clamped it in place...it sounds amazing. Flowmasters kick
