MagnaFlow V.S FlowMaster?

I am still not sure? Should i go with the flowmaster or Magnaflow? Either way it would be dual exhaust. What do i go with? Please help!

Depends on what you want. Usually people who want more power go with the Magnaflows, and people who really want a good sound go for the Flowmasters.

The Magnaflows have a better setup, in terms of airflow. I would choose the Magnaflows.

This thread should help also.

Good luck in your decision.

if u wanna thing of exhaust pressure in a way... to keep someone under control while hyper venhtilating... u give them a bag to regualte the oxygen intake and exhaust... having a free flow muffler is uncontrolled exhaust pressure.. a chambered or a flowmaster/imco or other brand muffler uses a chamber design to control the exhaust... not just let it flow... i mean hell next time u go to take a poop would u want control of ur rectume or do u want it to flow out WOT like diarhea.... sprry adding imagry...:-p

I've noticed a little more take off with my Magnaflow! I love it! Nice, quiet, deep, throaty sound that gets attention when you mash on it! I have SI/DO with 3" inlet and dual 2.25" outlets into 3" stainless tips out the corners.

I have never heard a magnaflow but I do know my Flowmaster sounds good and everyone else thinks so too.

They are both good choices but if you want that classic V8 sound flowmaster is the way to go.

Magnaflow has better bottom end (or should I say you will not lose any bottom end like you do with flowmaster), Faster150 is confused.

i like flowmaster myself, you will not lose any low or top end with the flowmaster, you will probably gain some upper end hp with the magnaflow over the flowmaster but some backpressure is needed for low end torqe and just useing a catback is not going to effect your backpressure all that much the 4 cats will keep the backpressure i like the flowmaster myself

Those who say you lose low-end with a flowmaster obviously dont have one....i have a SI/DO 3" to 2.5" and about a week or so after i put it on both my mileage as well as low-end has increased. I can now easily squeel the tires from a stop........either way you go, just know that flowmaster sounds the best

I had a Flowmaster 40 on my 98 with a 4.6 and it sounded decent, but the Magnaflow I just put on my 03 with a 5.4 just sounds awesome. If you want teeth rattling pi$$ off the neighbors loud, Magnaflow isn't it (my Flowmaster wasn't either). But if you want a nice rumble at idle, turn heads V-8 roar under acceleration, hardly notice it at cruising speed - Magnaflow is what you want.

I have a question for the guys that put a SI/DO MagnaFlow on a 2004 and up. Did you have to remove your spare or put anything over your spare to protect it from the heat? Thanks
