Can I just Cut old 1 out and put a si/do in ??

Hello Every-one ,
This is kinda my first post . I not long ago i bought a 2002 XLT 5.4 Scab . I have gotten the 1715 through the classifieds here for my first mod . I have a chance to buy a Magnaflow muffler 14221 si/do . I was wondering If I can use this with my stock pipes ( Just cut the old 1 out and put this in ) . Only reason im asking is because the dual out part were my Stock muffler is Single out. I dont have Alot of loot so I'm looking for A cheap fix to the Stock muffler and am Able to buy Magnaflow muffler 14221
@ around $60.00 from a Friend ( new) .

Thanks in advance for your Help ,

Why don't you just cut the muff out and put a piece of straight pipe in it? I don't think you can use a SI/DO muff with the stock tail pipe.

Hello TRITON_MOTORS ,
Thanks for the quick reply . I'm really new @ this and im not really mechanically inclined . Is it ussaully really Expensive to replace the Stock pipe after the muffler so I can have the dual exhuast and can any muffler shop do it ? If I have just a muffler ( Magnaflow 14221) and bring it to them will they be able to make it work and work right . Also this muffler is 3.00"/2.50" Dual will this work for my truck do to the Stock pipe going into the muffler is smaller then the 3' will it cause any performance issues ( in which case it wouldnt be worth doing )

Again thanks for the help ,

you can get duals from a shop for 200-250 with a cheap performance muffler. Id go with straight pipes though, theyre cheaper and sound a hell of alot better!!
