Having been there and done that...

If whatever exhaust you're looking at attaches at the Y-Pipe then yes it will fit either the 04 or 05. Since 95% of the aftermarket companies attach at the INTERMEDIATE pipe, be very careful, you may end up getting something that doesn't work.

After further research, I think the forward hanger may be in a slightly different location. If you click on this link from Borla for the 04:

http://borla.com/media/installations/140086.pdf

It very clearly illustrates the hanger is going to the frame cross member that goes side to side. Both the stock and the Borla attach there. The 05 (at least the one I have) has the hanger on the SIDE FRAME RAIL, NOT THE CROSS-MEMBER.

What a freaking cluster *****. Why on earth did Ford do this? Boggles the mind...

so, will Magnaflow in fact release an 05-specific system? If so, any idea when?

FYI, that stock '05 exhaust is exactly what came off of my truck, built in July of '04. I bet that when the started '05 production, they stopped using several '04 parts and put the '05 parts on the later '04's. Anyway, that is the same exhaust of my truck, and you can get the present Magnaflow systems to fit perfectly on your truck that has the same exhaust as the stock '05 with just cutting some pipe off of the intermediate pipe.

Yeah I did the same. Anyways you have to cut the intermediate pipe for different cab lengths regardless. No biggie at all and fits like a glove.

so it doesn't matter that the s-curve is on the 05 and not all the 04s?

I ask because I'm getting an 05 soon, want to put the Magnaflow SIDO on, but don't want to void any warranties.

Hey all...

Not sure if its been posted yet or not, but I got a call from Troyer yesterday telling me that the 2005 Magnaflow cat-back systems are ready, and mine just got shipped! Magnaflow's website doesn't list them, but apparently there are like 6 new part numbers for the '05s.

Troyer has the magnaflow systems listed now. 16614 and 16615 and also 15834. Arent' the troyer prices a little steep. Is it becasue their systems are stainless steel. Magnaflow doesn't have their price up but have the new systmes for 2004 1/2 and 2005.

Screws is 16612, 16614 and 16616....Looks like hottexhaust has the systems as well.

Thanks for the coupon "wideopen2zg13" for hottexhaust. I just ordered the 16614 for 383.88 shipped.
