Thumbs up Gibson SS Swept Side installed

Finally got around to getting my Gibson Swept Side installed on my '98 EB Expy 4x4. Thanks for the advice!!! I'm quite pleased with the sound and performance so far. I was lazy and took it to the local exhuast shop... in and out in 40 minutes, $60 welded after they quoted me $100. I finally broke into the 12s last night in the Vette with a 12.98 @ 107.15 (woo-hoo!!!!) so I was in a really good mood and tipped 'em $20

Has anybody had any complaints about these? I've seen nothing but positive posts...

Kurt

Ditto to all the above. I think people that get the SS don't want a "loud" system. Just something to enhance an already decent setup and that 3.5" tip looks really cool.

I had mine installed 2 days ago. It's a lil louder than stock, but just the way I like it!! I had a shop weld it on also, cost was $65. It looks GREAT!!

Frozen,

Sorry to hear that. I'm quite toasty down here these days.

Ditto on the others remarks. I love the SS Swept Side on mine. I installed it so it's not welded but so far, absolutly no problem.

I never really tried to test it for power etc. except for normal driving, if you call mine normal. However, lately I've realized the with Texaco Power Premium it really does run much better than with Chevron, plus, it just seems to have started running even a little better. Maybe new "spring time" fuel (not winter reformulated) or it's adjusting to the warmer weather. I've done a couple of impressive 0-60 times and 2-3 times I've tested it's ability to get wheel spin out of the hole. 3:55 limited slip on an Expy mind you. A few days ago, much to my surprise, 4-6 feet of a full 2 wheel spin from this tank!! I was impressed, but a little embarrassed to be getting giddy about that in an almost 6000# EB Expy.

Ok so how does this tie into the Gibson, well besides it sounding great and the conservative power gains, with the Gibson and the Airaid, a 4-6 foot burn out (well, I'm not sure "burn out" should be used to describe an EB Expedition doing this) feels, sounds and looks wild!! I could swear some of my gray hair reverted.
