you can get them at speed shops or meineke...(spelling)

i have vortex on my contour, and as well as dual vortex mufflers on my 93 cobra...love the sound...

Yeah glasspacks(cherry bombs) are still around, in fact I just sold one today. I work at an Advance Auto and they carry/order Thrush glasspacks in about in length and in/out setup you may want. Most run around 12.99 - 28.99.

Yeah , they still make them and guess what? They make more horse power than the top of the line performance mufflers! My friend dynoed his pickup a couple of months back. He found an old cherry bomb muffler in his garage that he picked up brand new at the auto parts store in one of those barrels filled with glasspacks. Well, he never got around to installing it. So he thought that he would dyno his truck with his high dollar Gibson cat back exaust against the cherry bomb. The gibson only made about two hp difference over stock. But the cherry bomb made a whoppping 8 hp over stock! That's pretty good bang for the buck! $10.99 ?

 

You can still get many brands of those. Summit and Jegs carries 3 or 4 brands.

Cherry Bombs bring back memories.

However, although he saw greater HP gains, what happened to torque? Probably lost some and/or moved peak up the RPM range some. CB's have there applications but so do Gibson. And Gibson fits more of the needs of a truck than Cherry Bomb.

Now I wish I had something to put a Cherry Bomb on now. They look so cool and that color red is sooo sweet. Hmm, there's this neighbor who's kids first car is a late 60's rag top Impala that really needs exhaust, maybe I could donate one. Although it doesn't get driven now that he has a brand new car.
