Post Truck Performance Center customer service

I recently ordered the Gibson Super Truck from them. Arrived damaged. Pointed it out to the UPS guy. He noted it. TCP's first response was "not our fault"! The unit was improperly packaged as someone had not placed the bubble wrap on the end and it puncture and was bent. They gave me the option of reordering paying again and dealing with UPS on my own. Then they sent me directly to Gibson. Gibson jump in thier ****. Then they came around. They are supposed to ship me out a new one Monday but this was on Wed. so I am not sure how eager they are to satisfy this customer. I think they should have shipped a replacement right after confirming with UPS that damage was reported. I hope they do right and I will post the outcome. They realy don't want to **** off a State Employee with a hot rod computer and time to spend posting on the Net! Would cost them way more than I spent on the system in the long run. Maybe I just caught them on the wrong day?

This one was shipped from TPC as evidenced by the packing slip. The salesman knew that early on. I think the new one will come direct from Gibson this time. Thats why Gibson was upset with them for sending me to them as TCP knew they had shipped it themselves. Still remains to be seen if they will fix this as they have not shipped out the new one yet. Monday I hope. I guess that is why I am still pissed as it is costing me another 9 days before I get one. And I have a damaged one and am dieing to get it on. Frustrating but worth the wait huh? One other thing. Never pay with a debit card! Use a regular credit card to get the delay and insurance. You can't stop payment on a debit after about two days. Live and learn.

Update: After waiting all week for my replacement now Friday has come and guess what? No Super truck exhaust. Called TPC again. They forgot to send me a replacement! Even after me calling and reminding them on Monday! The said they would ship out today and try to send it a more expedient route. I asked them to call me back later today and give me the UPS tracking #. Having trouble with all this. Hope they make good or I will have to start naming names.

Unhappy

Well after two more promises to ship they finally did yesterday! I just confirmed it has left California via UPS traacking. After three weeks I may have it soon! Oh happy joy joy! Still withholding judgement on TCP. They did not deal with a damaged shipment very well. I can understand the damage but when it is properly reported and claims already made why do they make the customer wait three weeks? And why then lie to them and say you have already shipped out three different times? Not only that theer repeated promises to call me back were never followed through on. Lie Lie Lie. Sad but true. Poor response so far. Hope this one is alright and the correct one. I am done with them after this.

Tracking my package now. Supposed to be here Tuesday. Contrary to their stated intent to expedite this, because they had made me wait so long, they sent it the slowest way they could and they even didn't get it shipped until late Tuesday night. One week in shipment! Way to go TPC. I will not be in town that day so I hope it will be alright. Everyone at work is supposed to be on the alert to check the box out good when it gets here.

Final post on this subject. replacement arrived. Only very slight damage to the bell on this one. Some one at Gibson needs to look at the packaging of these things. The bubble wrap is not enough to protect thm from a good drop. This one also tried to puncture through the box even with the bubble wrap. They are not UPS proof. However this one is only slightly damaged. After all the trouble I've had I will keep it and make it work. As for TPC? Well not pleased with the prompt attention I got. Would not do bussines with them agian after being treated this way. As for the Gibson. Looks like a nice product. They should protect it better.

Bubble wrap??? Geeze!! Those parts are too heavy for that stuff to work. My Borla came packaged in one large box with foam packing. Real impressive. They put the parts in the box then put plastic bags in the open spaces. They then fill the bags with foam which drys hard. There is no movement at all.

Agreed! They need to pack in foam or something. I am going to get in touch with Gibson and suggest that. The current packaging does not work. Have it on now. sounds great. A little loud however.

Dear V-10 Man,

Borla uses foam injection to package their exhaust systems, which provides far better protection. I've bought many a Borla, and you're right about their packaging! Those foam injection setups are a bit pricey at first, but they arte very cost effective for this type of situation, where you have to ship out a lot of heavy gear every day. Years ago, we used to see laser printers and plotters packed like this, using foam injection. It works very well for heavy boxed items.

Ever wanted to say "I told You So"?

Feel free to do so now. My Super truck finally arrived, and as you warned, the box was damaged, they obviously don't know anything about shipping.

From reading the posts, I understand that they come straight from Gibson, but I will still take my business elsewhere and would never recommend TPC.

Everyone was real helpful and nice until I had placed the order, and then suddenly, noone had any answers or help.

Spyder 707, Was your Super Truck exhaust damaged? Or was the packaging just in poor shape? I received my Gibson side swept after ordering it from TPC, and the box was collapsed along with a hole in the end of it. The bag with the clamps was sticking out of the hole, good thing that I went to pick it up from my local UPS, if I had it delivered to my door, I may have never seen that bag of clamps. The box was heavey duty, but Gibson doesn't place any bracing in the box to keep the pipes and muffler from rattling around. Luckily, my components arrived in good shape. Hope you can still enjoy your exhaust...

Spyder207,

No I do not take any pleasure from your missfortune. Both of mine came directly from TPC not Gibson. Look at the packing slip. If it is a TPC slip it came form them. However when the damaged one arrived TPC tried to claim that was the case. A call to Gibson resulted in TPC initiating replacment. Gibson was pissed at them for having me call them! However TPC took their own sweet time replacing it. They said they wanted to examine the replacement before they sent it to make sure I got a good one. They did not do so as the box was still factory stapled when I got it. And they "forgot" to ship it for almost two weeks in spite of my daily calls and three times telling me it was already shipped. I demanded the tracking number each time and when they couldn't produce it they admitted each time they had forgotten to ship it. They promised to call me back each time but never did. I made over 10 calls to them but never recieved a promised reply. Lie after lie. They finally promised to ship it by a more epedient method to make me happy. Then they shipped it by connestoga wagon (7 days UPS)just to make me a happy customer. Bottom line is Gibson makes a good product but does not package it well but TPC does not take care of its customers in a timely fashion and it takes repeated harassment to do so. I will write Gibson about this as they recommended TPC to me. Good luck and be agressive. I have names and phone numbers. If you need them email me. <cphilip@clemson.edu> Good luck. It is a great system.

Oh, BTW, both of mine were damaged. The first one so badly that it was unusable. The "bell" end was crushed. The second one only slightly and went on without too much trouble.
