4.6 true duals

I have put true duals with 2 40 series flowmaster mufflers with no tips. My truck kinda sounds like the early 90's cobra. i was wondering if anybody else has done that and if thats what theirs sound like.

I had the same setup on my 97. I loved how loud it was. I really wish i left the flows on. I switched to a dual in/out magnaflow with internal x pipe. Its kinda just as loud but doesn't have that distinctive flow sound.

When i do my highflow cats next month im going to save up and get the flowmaster super 40's and put them on with a H pipe. I need that sound back.

got a 97 with true duals flowing through the cheapest glasspacks i could find. it sounds wonderful. it exits out the side with no tips though. i want to build a custom tip like the nascar boys use to dress it up.

99 with 2.5 inch pipes and glasspacks. Sounds awsome.

im considering true duals with hi flos on my 98 4.6. My question concerns the cats. Is there any hardware other than the cats themselves that i would need to buy in order to have them installed? What do I do with the 2 O2 sensors that arent going to be used after the installation?

Flea how much of a sound increase did you get with the hi flos?

one thing you could try is cutting the cats off and leaving them off. after you do that you would install these O2 Simulators in place of your o2 sensors. will give you more flow and a great sound. Just a thought.

97 4.6L, shorty headers, no cats, H pipe, true duals with 40 series 2 chambers and turn downs........

soon to be replaced by magnaflows....this week actually.

this was before the blower. i plan on getting before and after recordings of the magnaflows/flowmasters

Talking

I put true duals on my RCSB 4x4 in summer '02. It's a Magnaflow 2 in 2 out with 2.5" pipes exiting behind the rear wheels like the stock position. I love everything about it! I've got a '97 Cobra and the sound is now a pretty close approximation of the Stang, except for my fan which is coming off soon. I know that people say that a vehicle only feels faster because it sounds louder, but there was definitely a difference off the line after removing Ford's terrible fake Y-pipe. Breaking the tires loose off the line is a lot easier now, so I know I gained some bottom-end grunt. I'd recommend true duals to anyone with a 150.
