La Pew thanks, but how did you do that? I would love to know how.

tfleming,
I do have the K&N in the box. I was hoping to get some better airflow to the intake. I don't know if it worked, but I don't think it hurt it. Oh well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Thumbs up All right...IT'S here!!!

Proud Father I am...

Finally got my 15609 today...big white box that you've all described was waiting outside this morning. Couldn't wait to get it on, so I called an exhaust shop, and within half an hour, it was being installed. They had the old one off in 10 minutes, and the new one on in about another 10. Payed 45 bucks, but hey, they did a stellar job, and that's more than I can say for the job I would have done. After it was all done, they lowered the truck off the stand, and I started it up. INSTANTLY noted the deep, throaty start. I've only driven her a couple of times today, but only inner city. Tomorrow I will see what it's like on the highway. But I liked the sound a lot...not too annoying, but still comes alive when you punch it. So, this is my first real mod besides my K&N, and I can honestly say, I LOVE IT! I recommend this exhaust over any others.

Griz, the way I do it is to fisrt go to the image in your gallery (or anyone elses) that you want put in your reply. Click on the image to make it full size. Then right click on the image and scroll down to properties. Once the properties window opens up you highlight the web address (URL), and copy it.

When you type up your reply go up to the vB code buttons near the top of the reply page below the message icons and click on the IMG button. Then paste the URL from the pic you want to include into the IMG box. Then it should appear as an image as opposed to a link.

Good luck I hope this is helpful to you.

Hey Guys...

Griz - That looks great bro! You took a down home redneck job like I did and made it lookd good! LOL

C5 - I don't know much about my cousins status as of yet, probably because he is still in Basic, hasn't been to SS (Surv. School) and then he will probably be assigned to an aircraft type and base from there. I think the way they work assignments is just like the pilots in training, you have to make it through the schools and only then are you lotteried to an aircraft type and then you find out where you're going... Does that seem accurate or reflective of what you went through?

ReelWork/Griz

Hey guys,

First, Griz, thanks! I will try and get some pics and put them in my gallery. I'll let you guys know when I get the pics, and will send them to see what you think. Won't be much different than yours, but you can see what it looks like on a silver SCREW .

ReelWork, yeah, what you said is about right. The school is a bit different now than when I went through. He'll be going to Oklahoma for his first course, and that's when they'll tell him what plane he'll be flying on. After that, he'll go to a "specialty" school where he'll learn about his specific aircraft. If he goes to C-5's he stay in Oklahoma, otherwise, he'll be put where his particular plane's school is. Could be a varity of other bases/locations. But nonetheless, he'll know where he's going before he gets out of his first school (which is only about a month and a half). By the way...Altus AFB, Oklahoma sucks! I'm sure anyone else would agree. Not a whole lot to do there, so tell your cousin to get a XBOX or Playstation, and a BIG bottle of lube . Think that's the only reason I made it outta there a sane human being...

ROTFLMAO, I'll be sure to let him know...

I know Altus sucks.. I've been to Tinker and it sucks pretty bad, Altus, being worse, has got to be a couple of exits just before hell...

Altus Blues!

Yeah, I know what you mean about it being hell...On a kinder note, though, Lawton, one of the local cities, has a bar called Scooters. It's about the only fun that exists for MILES! And if he's not 21 yet, it doesn't matter...they don't card...at least that's the way it was when I was there. I didn't have to worry about it, but a bunch of my younger pals were underage. I especially recommend Thursday nights (if memory serves me...) because those nights are reserved for WET T-SHIRT CONTESTS. And I remember a lot of free booze . Anyway, it's a bit rinky-dink, but hey, when you're stuck in that hole for a few months on end, ANYTHING is fun. So, tell your boy I said good luck, and make sure he knows about Scooters (everyone else will, after a couple of weeks there).

Hey guys,
I spent this past January to May at Tinker. My class went on a "field trip" to Altus and all I can say is I hope BRAC does it's job and closes that he!! hole. I don't even think they have a Wal-Mart there. Wish your cousin luck. I'm sure he'll be fine. We Air Force members seem to have a way of finding fun wherever we go. If not we make it!!!
