cat Eliminators
too bad u guys do not know more about emissions and then u would realize your ignorance of removing the cats just so that u can have a nice sound. If u would like a nice sound put duals on your truck after the cats and run no mufflers
Blacl f150 Offroad, I think that many people have the great state of texas confused with other western states we are no the sahara but we have deserts and dense forests not much unlike those in your great countryor province of the United states many would like to call Canada. pleases refrain from talking bad about my state we have a history of kicking *** ie: Santa Anna, or for my canadian friends the little people below texas.(I like mexicans dont get me wrong). But please refrain from making assinne remarks about my state please visit we are nice people and we dont ride horses to work or schoo. I like canada too you guys are funny and you talk slow, but you know how to build an engine. Good Day.
Hey everyone. I'm new to this site, but not
to FORD trucks. I have owned three over a
15 year period. My latest buy was a 1998
f150 4x2 with a 4.6 engine. It still has the
stock exhaust system, but not for long. I'm
thinking about having a glasspack type
muffler followed by a y and then straight
back with two pipes out the back of the
truck. No large tips to finish it off. Does
anyone have a setup like this? How does it
sound? I'm unfamiliar with exhaust work for
this engine. I have always had either a 302
or 351w. I want maximum sound out of the
system without losing the cat.

97,are you talking about mil eliminaters? ive made 3 sets and put them on two mustangs with O/R h-pipes..what they do is they trick your computer into thinking you still have the cats on, and your check engine light will not come on..I am going to put the other set on my truck as soon as i get the cats off. everyone takes thier cats off here in Oklahoma since we dont have to get them inspected..As i think about it none of my friends in tx have cats either..</font>

actually canada is not ever going to be part of the states, and i hate to burst your bubble but most other countries like canda much better than the us so saying that canada is a province of the us is funny. i was not meaning that u are a desert i was meaning that people dont always understand the effects of emmissions and what they cause - think the green house effect is a myth?, last few years we have had hardly any snow, never had rattle snakes before - now they are moving closer into canda all the time as the average temps are reamaing higher durring the winters - see the haze over cities - aka smog - caused by Nox emmissions - how many kids do u see running around with inhalers compared to when u were young - HC emmissions, CO, etc , cats are designed to create a chemical reaction wich reduces the amount of emmisions and actually turns some of the harmful items into water vapour - see water running out of a persons tail pipe? that is a good sign. As for passing emmsion testings it depends on what level - this depends on age of vehicle and is that only at idle or on a dyno wich is used to simulate actuall driving - basically put a sniffer up your pipe before and after and u will realize the differece between cats and no cats - all i am saying is that u should weight the pro's and cons if the only thing you will be gaining is a nice sound well personally i think the drawback outweight the benifits
I was kidding, I have two really good friends from Calgary, they are probably the funniest guys I have ever met. I understand the effects of catless exhaust. Canada is cool, I was just screwing with ya.
yeah thats ok, mind u, tell your presidant not to stop to fast or he may have a prime minister's head up his butt. Actually I think the thing that anoyed me is that u were probably right. o well better go pay my taxes.
I actually do wish they did more emmision testing (dont do it in alberta) because the smoking pieces of junk out there put out more pollution in one day than in a life time of a new vehicle, i've seen vehicles smoking so bad that its worse than fog and the person driving along doesnt seem to have a care in the world. Problem is people believe it is a right to drive and not a privalage. Any way my igloo is melting so i had better run

I've seen and driven a few trucks that just ran true duals with no mufflers after the cats and that seemed to sound not to bad, alittle rumble at idle but not loud, I am thinking of doing that but still havent decided. A lot of talk on her about lost tourque with duals and 3" exhust, i guess a person never knows until they try it.
