Removing the cats can get you in big trouble but if you live in a state doesn't have inspections then go for it dude there are some guys at work that run straight exhaust and no cats as there is no inspection law in TN yet or if there is it only effects big Citys like Nashville and Memphis.

97,are you talking about mil eliminaters? ive made 3 sets and put them on two mustangs with O/R h-pipes..what they do is they trick your computer into thinking you still have the cats on, and your check engine light will not come on..I am going to put the other set on my truck as soon as i get the cats off. everyone takes thier cats off here in Oklahoma since we dont have to get them inspected..As i think about it none of my friends in tx have cats either..

Question

It's a federal law; You have to hope they break it by not checking. It's called the Federal Clean Air Act; and yes, the Texas Clean Air Act. Try a general browser search of either. You could also look at any cat elimination website and see the "off road/racing only" warnings. This should cover this topic, as well as the dual question.

sound? you like that tinny, raspy sound of no cat? I personally think they sound terrible. No grumble at idle, all tin.

97triton, I also heard that true duals were illegal here in Texas. I don't know, a buddy of mine has it, and he was theone that told me that they were illegal. I said something about it earlier and someone replied with telling me that they weren't.
