Post BORLA REVIEW

Just installed the Borla Split-Rear Cat-back exhaust system (P/N 14808) on my baby today. All i can say is amazin. Love the sound, the look, the preformance. Took out the truck tonight to meet friends, nothing but compliments. Everyone loved it! I also installed a K&N FIPK, love it too! THEY WORK BEAUTIFULY TOGETHER!

Installation of the exhaust was fairly simple. Removal of the old exhaust was a pain! (Blow torch helped though d:-P)
Installation of the K&N was real easy, didnt really run into any problems at all.

RESULTS: Outstanding. Cant say enough good about the duo. Throtle is much more reactive, truck is a lot quicker in the top end, low end stayed about the same. Sound is far superior, yet does not annoy you when cruising down the highway. Looks? AMAZING! Was a little skeptic of the tips sent with the system, but once under the truck, WOW!

NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THE TWO!

Coolsvile...glad to hear that you like your Borla exhaust. I have the same one on it's way in the mail for my '97. I can't wait!!! Are you looking into getting headers? I have some Pacesetters on the way also. Your post really made me feel good about my decision to get the Borla exhaust. Well congratulations on your modification.

Coolsvile...just got the Borla installed. I love it!!! Not too loud, but it sounds mean. Still waiting on the headers. I'll let you know how it goes.

Cool

Hey, good to see some other Borla fans out there! I've had my Borla for a couple of years now (on two different F-150s) and I really like it. Everyone likes the Flowmasters, but man they're loud all the time. My Borla is quiet when I want it and loud when I want it!

Coolsville...go for the Superchip...it's totally awesome. Got it through Mike on this website. Highly recommend it.
Considering headers, though I've been told they're sometimes a pain to keep tight. Future mod maybe.

Hey, have any of you seen the carbon fiber tips on an F-150?

Yah, i really want the chip, if "SANTA" dont bring it this year, then i am goin to pick one up in the new year.

I also plan on a major suspension fix this year as well (shocks, sway-bars, bushings, possible traction bars)

I think the headers will be a good addition, especailly if i plan on superchargin this engine.

I have never seen the carbon tips in person, just pics, always wonder what they were like (look and sound wise)

Coolsvile...finally got the Pacesetter headers installed. Installation was a royal pain. I had to modify the headers a little just to get them to fit. One of the bolts would not fit in the hole, because one of the pipes was in the way. I'm sure Pacesetter has to know of this design flaw, but apparently doesn't want to do anything about it. Anyway, I've noticed improved acceleration, and hill climbing, as well as a deeper sound. I would recommend getting headers, just not Pacesetter. I would also recommend paying someone else to do the work, if money isn't too much of a concern. It will probably save you some headaches, and you would get some kind of warranty out of the deal. Well Merry Christmas everyone...hope Santa brought some cool truck parts.
