Old threads: Recycle... Re-Use... Re-something.

5 x 11 x 22... should be quiet, shouldn't it?

and the Flowmaster 70 Big Block II is almost as big at 5 x 10 x 22 but completely different construction.

Eight years after this thread started... has anybody used either of these?

Kevin, the 22" body will certainly be quiet. Almost near stock but not as quiet with the two cat systems.

If a Maggie is too loud, you should stay with the stock.

OK. Now it's almost April 2012 and I'm reviving the thread again.

I too am looking into ditching half the cats, replacing the muffler and I'm sticking with the SISO and a flow-through muffler. But, I want quiet. I like music don't get me wrong, but I can get that from my Ducati - I don't want it from my truck.

I need to keep it cheap too. No full Borla systems - ideas?

04+ 5.4L F150 XLT 4X4 SCAB with Gotts Mod, new plugs, and just over 126K miles. Basically all stock 'sept the Gotts.

If you want a free flow performance muffler. Look at the AFE MACHforce large oval body muffler it's strait through and extremely quiet at idle normal driving. However it is a little more aggressive at wot. I run a Machforce 22" oval body muffler with obx long tubes no cats and a Whipple supercharger cranked up to 10 psi. Normal driving it sounds stock . When I open it up it sounds nice and deep not overpowering and no drone. Hope this helps.
