Still debating D2S and H1. I know we've talked about how the D2S is better like 5 times () but I'm probably just gonna get H1s cause I know for sure that install will be "simple."

I was gonna do my bumpers first, but I can't pass up $225 ish for these.

^^^ I'll reiterate and support ol' Larry-At's sage advice. Going with H1's over the current redesigned D2S 3.0's, is a mistake, period.

The minimal additional initial prep and install effort - and I stress it's minimal, (as you can't use the primary advantage of the H1's H13 projector-leveling adapter anyway in an F150 housing due to clearance and registration skew issues), is completely dwarfed by the advantage of having access to the vast world of D2S bulb choices, the much greater bulb seating precision, the ability to safely use 55W capsules if desired, and the obvious optical advantages. Not to mention that 3" lenses look far better than 2.5's in such huge housings.

A no-brainer.

To the OP - consider this thread well and truly 'jacked. R U surprised?

^All of this. It's very minimal difference in install between the 2 and you'll be much more pleased with the D2S. Especially if you want to upgrade to OEM bulbs or ballasts. Much more reliable. Even tho both the new XB bulbs and XB ballasts are out and are said to be pretty good and reliable..

So my future retrofits for friends and family are going to be mini D2S. Unless they wanna pay more for a full cut in retro like fx-r or my favorite rx350.

Here's my recommendation - keeps the cost down some, too. 35w is more than adequate and stuff lasts a bit longer.

Halos are Ghey - so if yer so inclined, go fer it. I don't have to ride in yer truck!

Pick the size as dictated by the specific shrouds you choose - also a very personal choice - I like Apollos or Panameras as they are huge and cover the projector nicely, and fill the headlight bucket well.

Refer to the shroud section: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/com...s/shrouds.html, select yer shroud and it'll tell you the halo sizing info fer yer choice.

Butyl - y'all need some anyway - may as well git the discount. Same goes fer rubber end caps, and JB-Weld epoxy. The more ye spend, the more ye save ! Marketing Genius!
