bikenut....

Sorry I didn't get back soon enough on the autolamps. Just need the autolamp module to mount and plug in under the dash cover and the headlight switch with the autolamp position.

I cut the slots in my existing dash cover for the sensor, but you can also order a new one.

Works great -simple plug in's

Talking

I bought the parts from Bikenut. Did the installation in about 20 minutes.

Had the truck back in to the dealer the other day, and when I got it back, I found the headlight switch in the OFF position. I keep it in the AUTO position. Guess the mechanic didn't like the DRLs. LOL

I have found the autolamp part at Fordgenuineaccessory.com and it states that the autolamp includes Daytime running lamps. Is this true because I would like to add the auto and DRL lamps but dont want to have to pay for each seperatley. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

Thanks John

Not Correct

Sorry John, but you'll have to add a relay and a resistor to get the DRLs.

Auto just makes the lights come on when it's dark. My 03 Screw came with auto and I had to add those two parts to get DRL.

Welfare Wagon,

I really hope you do get both. I do know that just the parts shown here, http://www.geocities.com/skyjet1/DRL.html , will run about $60. And that's just for the DRL.

For Auto you'll need another relay, light sensor, and a new switch. With the price of Ford parts being what they are, if you do get both, you'll be getting a great deal.

Let us know what you get. Here's root'n for ya.

Welfare Wagon,

That kit sucks. There is a stick-on light sensor that goes on the dash for the automatic headlamps and you cannot turn them off... if its dark, they are on - period (no switch of any kind). The DRLs are optional on/off on the kit at installation. The kit is a little black box, a light sensor, and a crap load of wires.

In short, I repeat, the kit sucks. It can't be turned off and looks like crap with the black thing on the dash.

I just ordered the parts and did it myself. It is very simple to do and it looks stock. Here are a couple threads that discuss the process:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...light=autolamp
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...light=autolamp
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...light=autolamp

The part numbers you will need are in there if you happen to have a Dark Graphite Interior and no fog lights. As I say in those threads, you will need a new switch, a light amplifier, and a dash cover panel. Total parts cost is about $85.00. I reccomend calling Ford Parts Online http://www.fordpartsonline.com/ they are great to work with and are very knowledgeable over the phone. Tell them you need the parts above and they will walk you thru the rest.

Help!! I ordered the DRL kit from a ford online site and the kit that arrived is a universial kit for all ford vehicles, it comes with a silver box and a bunch of wires I have to splice. So that is being returned. MY ?? is who did you guys go through to order the kit that uses the relay and resistor under the dash panel and behind the drivers front wheel, What prices did you pay. The parts person i spoke with where I odered this product said there is no other kit available that Ford sells. which I know is not to be true

It's not a kit. Just order the parts and install them. This site tells it all.
