Angry Door Ajar, dome light stays on

Anyone out there have an idea why my dome light and door ajar dash light will stay on sometimes after I start up and drive down the highway? It always shuts off after a short time of driving and the light will shut down sometimes as soon as the door is shut, sometimes a few minutes later. My truck is a 1998 F150 Ext. Cab.

Thanks, Keith

Hi Keith, spray some WD-40 into the door latch.

What Raoul said! I did mine last night...Fixed it right up. I did have one door that I had to open & close 4-5 times.

Mine did the same thing......and kept doing it after the WD40 thing.
Turned out to be a bad door switch. I caught this one just before it went out of my extended warranty, so I had the dealership fix it. They replaced the door switch and told me that they have seen this on more than one occassion.
Hasn't done it since.
