Will it start with a jump?

Charge and test the battery, test the alternator. Clean all connections from the battery to the starter and grounds.

If that doesn't fix it, check the fuel pressure. If the pressure is correct, the problem is electrical.

It's electrical if it won't even turn over, it just clicks.

From his description of what happened he said the starter turned the engine at first and then only clicked which could have been a dead battery. But the engine shutting off driving down the highway could be many things. On this model it's so easy to check the fuel pressure there is no reason not to check it.
