2012 Ford F150 won't start on park, starts on Neutral
I have a 2012 Ford F150. Lately, I have been having problems with it starting. Sometimes it will start no problem. Other times it will just crank in park and I have to put it in neutral to start it. I took it to a Ford mechanic but they couldn't find the issue. They checked the fuel pump but that is totally fine. They said it couldn't be the ignition switch or the neutral safety switch. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Need more specific description of fault.
When it fails to start in PARK, is it always a "Cranks but does not fire" issue or is it a "No crank" issue, or some variation or combination?
Column or console shifter?
Why could the "Ford mechanic" not find it? Were they unable to duplicate your symptom due to it being intermittent or did they fail to understand how the system works? What, exactly, was their report?

It is always a crank but does not fire. The Ford mechanic was able to duplicate the symptom but they said that in order to check what's wrong it needed to keep doing it. Also, it is a console shifter.

The truck wouldn't start at all last week (even in neutral). Took it to the mechanic and they found that the fuel pump relay had burned out. I guess this has been an issue with the 2012 F150s because Ford put out a notice saying that the fuel pump relay needed to rewired to a different slot.
