Bright lights staying when fog lights are on?

As topic says, if the fogs are not on the brights will turn on/ off with turn signal switch. If fogs are on and i turn on brights they come on but won't turn back off. Also if i blink my bright lights they stay on as if they were stuck and won't turn back off unless I cut the fogs off

Also either way the "brights" icon does not turn on in the dash. I have checked all fuses and replaced all relays and even the turn signal switch. Still nothing.

The only thing I can think if now is that my problem from my airbag issue has caused the bright light icon to go out as well. I use to get code 81 or 18(can't remember) but now my airbag icon in the dash doesn't light up anymore either and I'm still getting the 5x5 tones.

Anyways any help would be awesome!

Could be a grounding issue or the headlight relay has a problem.....

I'll have to check. I figured it was a switch if some sort but now I'm running out options. The relay for both fog and brights has been replaced

Some how the headlights aren't making a good ground and that's backfeeding through the system.....you could do the bambi mod..... https://www.f150online.com/forums/el...aybe-04-a.html
This will create another grounding point to isolate the two plus then you'll have fogs when you want with high and low beam but not all the time....

I believe this is the same mod I have already done. But I turned one of the relay prongs out and grounded that pring.

So you no longer have the bend pin fog lamp modification ?
- from the replaced both relays part of the post.

When you are having this issue, are you using the on position or the autolamp position on the switch ?

If you pull the fog lamp relay, and try the same test ( fog lamps won't work obviously ) does the same thing happen ?

The headlamp setup, is this factory ?
- No PnP or retro HID lamps installed

The high beam indicator could be burnt out, would have to take the dash apart to change out the bulb to find this out.

My line of thinking is running towards a cracked fuse panel PCB. If there was stress from the bent pin relay pushing against it, might have cracked the board causing traces to touch, but that is supposition at the moment. Need some testing before pulling the fuse panel to check.

----No I just replaced relay without bend to also see if that mod had issues.

----I tried both with old auto switch and new auto switch.

----I have not tried it with the relay removed, I will try that when I get home.

----They are HIDs and I was thinking today to disconnect and install stick bulbs to see if that's it.

----I was thinking this as well. That maybe and hopefully the cluster has gone bad in which will fix both my headlight and airbag issue. I believe the indicators are right beside each other.

----I hope not but which ever is cheaper new fuse box or new dash cluster.

If you have HIDs the Bambi mod will solve your problem if done correctly. I had the exact problem on my 07

Useful piece of info to include in the 1st post.

Pull the HID kit and test with standard bulbs.

That would've been really helpful to know this.....
