wiring wipers to automatically turn on lights
Hey everyone. I would like to know how to wire up a circuit that will automatically turn on the headlights whenever I put the wiper switch in any position other than "off." Of course the output whether in "low", "high", or "int" would provide a constant 12v that could activate a relay that would in turn power the headlights.

I can email you the files. Basically you're gonna have to either setup 4 relays, or a single relay with 4 large diodes.
shouldnt be very hard to do. You wanting only the head lights to come on, or you want tail lights and dash lights to all come on (as if you turned the headlight switch on)?

Solved: Thanks to Patman
Thanks Patman! I got the circuit to work with a couple of changes.
I had to add a second relay to interrupt the signal wire going to the wiper switch. I powered this relay's coil with the wire coming from the acc/run Black/Lt. Green wire from key switch. The reason for this was because when the key switch is off, the wiper switch connects to ground while in the off position.
Also had to add diode (3x 6amp in parallel) between Pin #1 (Red/Yellow) on light switch to pin #5 (brown) on light switch so that if you only wanted to manually turn on the parking lights, then the headlights wont come on also.
I feed the other relay coil (86) from pin# 2 (violet/Orange) which 12v when the headlight switch is on the Automatic position. This allows me to be able to turn off the headlights with the wipers on if I wanted to.
I only chose to ground other relay to pin #5 on wiper connector anlong with 1 diode to activate headlights on fast continuous, normal continuous, and the top two intermittent settings.
Relay "A"
85: Any ground
86: To Black/Lt. Green wire from key switch
87: To wiper connector pin# 5 (Pink/Black) with diode (silver stripe towards pin #5)
30: To 85 on relay "B"
Relay "B"
85: To 30 on relay "A"
86: To pin# 2 (Violet/Orange), (Auto setting) on headlight switch
87: To pin# 1 (Red/Yellow) and pin# 5 (Brown) on headlight switch**
30: To pin# 6 (Dark blue/Orange) on headlight switch
** I used 3, 6amp diodes in parallel between pin#1 and pin# 5 on headlight switch with silver stripes (on diodes) towards pin# 5 to prevent headlights from burning when switch is manually turned to parking light position.
Thanks,
Kevin
