On my 2001 the FAL e-fans I used the pos trigger for the AC Compressor Clutch Solenoid.

This was at the BJB ( aka Battery Junction Box, Engine Compartment fuse panel ), Gray w/ White stripe wire ( out of the bottom of the BJB ).

This is the same Gray w/ White stripe wire that is from the WOT relay and connects to the AC Clutch Diode, and is at the front of the AC compressor.

Mine was fairly easy to find, and I used a meter to verify the correct circuit by testing to the AC compressor diode ( one side is from the WOT relay, the other is to ground ).

This is for a pos trigger signal only ( < 1 A draw ).

The AC Compressor Clutch Solenoid is mounted on the front of the compressor.

It is was allows the unit to free wheel when not in use.

AC Compressor mounted on the motor itself, similar to the Alternator.
The belt runs around the pulley on it.

the belt is always turning the pulley on the AC compressor, and until the AC Compressor Clutch Solenoid is activated, the compressor is not doing anything ( the pulley is free wheeling ).

Looks something like this

Well, hate to be picky, but it's just an electromagnetic clutch. No solenoid is involved.

The A/C clutch is fed from a relay in the BJB starting n either 99 or 00. The clutch coil diode's cathode should be hot when the relay is energized, so it might offer a convenient connection point. I don't recall if the diode is in the BJB or is taped inside a harness on the 02 Navi, so you'll have to check on that.

This is for a pos trigger signal only ( < 1 A draw ).

Need to find the Gray w/ White stripe wire out of the bottom of the BJB.

Once you locate the wire from the bottom of the BJB, you need to verify it with a meter to the AC Clutch Diode or the output of the WOT relay.

Thread revival time!!!

Thank you for this, the same wire (seemed to be the thickest gray wire/white stripe in the middle of one of the harnesses) also worked on my 2002 Harley F150 where I'm installing a Mark 8 F3LU-8K621-AA variable speed fan and a Flex-a-lite 33054 variable controller. I verified the wire you mentioned using a little continuity tool (red light is on when circuit is connected, no light when disconnected) I have then just pulling the fuse in and out while the engine was running to verify that both the compressor disengaged and the light when on and off on my tool accordingly. I'm hoping I can also find a switched ignition point in there as well to for the sake of keeping the wiring clean.

Part numbers have been blatantly mentioned for the sake of Google searches, which is how I found this thread :-)
