built in garage door opener

I hope this is the right section to post in, i didnt see any others that were more appropriate. So i have a built in garage opener built in to the visor on my 06 f150.

I live in a gated community and it would be real nice if i didnt have to keep the gate clicker on my visor, so my question is does anybody know how i could program the built in clicker to match my gate clicker... hope thats not confusing

Thanks

It's not confusing at all. I think you are talking about the "Homelink" system that is factory installed on the more upscale model F150s? If so, I think there are three buttons. I've programmed mine so that the left button opens the left garage door and the right button opens the right door. I think the center one just turns on lights - it's been so long that I've forgotten and I never use it.

So, if you have a garage with one door or don't really need to open a second door with your Homelink, I imagine you could make it open the gate, as long as the frequency range is the same.

I'd just look in your truck's owner's manual for the programming procedure. I think it's all done there. If not, then you'd need information on the gate system itself.
