Since ford used so many different bulbs over the years the best thing I can say is take out the bulb and get the number. Without doing this there is no knowing what bulb you have in there.

9005 are the bulbs to use for the factory harness.

I bought 9006 hyperwhite bulbs, and 9006 sockets from discount auto parts. I am going to run power to them direct from the battery, using the factory harness as the trigger to the relay so my stock switch works same as normal.

Question

Boss96Hog,
Which store had the bulb sockets? I looked when I had my '99 (to add fogs w/o the factory harness), but could not find any. Thanks, Doc

Thumbs up

Wish I had bought 9005's but I bought 9006's and lariat4wd is exactly right, the tabs can be easily cut to fit, but the base is much bigger.

I made them work though. Using a bench grinder for the tabs, I also ground around the base and although they were a little snug, they fit!! If they burn out, I'm going with you guys and getting 9005's. Wish I had listened in the first place!
