Question What Model Bulbs in 2000 4x4 Fog Lamps??!!??

I have asked several people, and gotten different answers. So far, I have come up with more 9006 answers than any other. Is this true? I want to get some bulbs to match my headlights. They look dumb being orange colored with my HID wannabe headlights
Ford told me I have to use Ford bulbs...I highly doubt that. Please help.

BTW, the Nokya blue 9007 bulbs are the best I've tested so far besides the real HID systems. Got them on Ebay.

I yanked mine out when doing hte PIAA Airdam conversion and yes, the bulbs in mine were 9006's (well, Fords version of the 9006, but a 9006 could swap in just fine)

I have a 2001 with factory fogs. The bulb is a 9145 (industry number) or 64151 (Ford number). Info came from calling the local Fors dealer service counter and asking them. Amazing what information they will give over the phone!

It can accually be one of 2 bulbs.

I can be the 9006 which is also known as H3.

And 893 bulb.. I have found this in Ford Lightning.

I got in my 97 Ford f150..

Xenon Superwhites
9007 for the headlights. 80/100
9006 in the foglights 80 watt

Now if you guys tell me if the base on the 9145 is straight base or "L" Shaped. I can tell you if it crosses with a 893 or 9006 bulb

White Knight,

My 2000 lists the 9145 and the bulb is angled.

My 2000 has 9145 bulbs in the fog lamps. I found a set of 55w superwhites (slight blue tint) at the online store at f150world.com. They matched up really well with a set of 9007 80/100W superwhites I got over there also.

Unhappy

Ok, I finally ordered my Hyperwhite 9006 bulbs for my foglights. They don't fit at all.
I tried modifying one to see if I could make it work. I notched the tabs to match the OEM bulb, but the base and seal of the new bulb is quite a bit larger than the stock bulb. This sucks. Anyone want to buy a set of 9006 Hyper Whites? One never been opened, one slightly modified, but still usable.
What Hyper White bulb will directly replace my OEM 2000 bulbs? It says 9145 on the bulb.

I used 9005 regular 65W lights(not 9006) in my '01 Screw. Does Hyerpwhite make a 9005 replacement? I only had to modify one of the tabs on each bulb slightly to get them in. Some people clamed they didn't have to modify anything to get them to fit. The base is the same size. My stock bulb is a 9145 also.

I put 65w 9005s in my 2000 this weekend. No mods were necessary. It made a BIG difference.

Thumbs up

I am with SILVER SPORT!!

I also installed the 65W 9005's into the driving/fog lamps with no problems at all...popped right in and took about 4 minutes to install.

Big difference and well worth the money!!

I bought my 9005 bulbs this weekend at Wal-Mart, much cheaper than the auto parts places. The container they came in show them to be 60 watt not 65 watt. Am I missing something here? And yes, I did have to modify them slightly, but no problem.
