DRL Foglights
I turned the foglights into DRLs today. I used a relay and found that the #5 fuse in the cab on 2001's is switched on with the ignition(couldn't find one in the relay box under the hood). I cut and hooked the orange/green power wires from the lights to the relay and left the stock black ground wires hooked up.

What is the relay for if you wired it to the fuse box? I was hoping to add additional lights into the grill as DRL's and now I know at least a place to wire into. I was hoping for under the hood also.
The relay relieves you of running a whole bunch of wires to the fuse. With it , you only need one to switch it on and all the other wires(power, grnd, lites)are under hood and shorter. Plus you get the full 14 volts from the battery to the lites directly instead of 12 from the fuse.
