I have a 97 f150xlt and my doors don't lock automatically at 10mph. A friend of mine has the same truck, same year and color and his does. any suggestions?

I don't think you can, I believe this is a factory installed deal, his may have been built later than yours, and that change is in his and not yours. I had an early 97 and it didn't lock

Actually, the doors don't lock at 10 mph. They lock when you release the brake after you shift out of Park. You could be standing still and they will lock as soon as you release the brakes.

Great feature for city dwellers. Bought my 98 Lariat used and did not receive any alarm remotes with the purchase. Installed an aftermarket remote start/door lock. (Still waiting patiently for a reply to a previous post regarding the GEM? module in my truck as I would like to add the exterior keypad.) Is my truck equipped with the RAP module? If not, can't this be achieved with a relay of some sort that activates a pulse when the vehicle is put in Drive?
Spent some time today in a local boneyard trying to get familiar with the underside of my dash. They did'nt have many late model F150's and the ones there were pretty much stripped. They also had a $50 minimum purchase policy so I will make a list prior to returning there. Anybody in the New England know of a good reliable and local, source for used F150 parts? TIA, Dennis

 

I have a 98, and I tried to enable the auto lock feature, and It didn't work. Do you have to have the factory keyless entry to do this? I have an aftermarket keyless entry/remote starter, but would like to enable the auto lock feature.

 

Yes, you do believe you have to have the factory key less entry.

 

Tried the enable/disable trick this morning, no bells and whistles though. Is the RAP something that can be installed if I was able to find one in the boneyard?
