What do I need to install fog lights?

Ok, I'm in need of a new valance for my 2WD Screw. I would like to get a fog lights valance like on some of the expy's and the KR, as in with fog light holes but no tow hook holes. I'm thinking of buying this valance -

with these fog lights - (passenger and driver side of course)

altogether these parts are about $200, but what kind of wiring will I need to hook up the fog lights? I'd like to simply wire it to the main headlights so the fogs come on when they do (but turn off if I have just the yellow corner parking lights on) - is that possible, or do I have to install a seperate switch?

thanks in advance for all the advice you guys can offer!

If you just want them when the low beams are on, you can wire the power for the relay coil direct to the headlamp.
This would be the diagram below, no switch, following option C.
When the low beams are off ( as in parking lamps only or high beams on ) the fog lamps would be off.

If you want to have a switch, you can install as shown ( not required ), that is your call.

The other option to have them on with the high or low beams is to wire the power to the relay coil from the output of the main headlamp switch.

You would want to connect the power to relay coil to the Red w/ Yellow stripe wire. There is a vent in the firewall, just above where the steering wheel column goes through the firewall, so you can get this wire to the under hood area to connect it to the relay.

This route would have the fog lamps on any time the high or low beams are on ( switch optional ).

meanstreak, if you have a SuperCrew, chances are you are already wired for fogs. Look behind your bumper/under the headlights and if you are, you will see the pigtails clamped up to the body.

I dont mean to hijack this post but I have a relevant question to the post.

I have a 03 screw that I am trying to add some fog light to via the factory harness and I am having a problem.

I have followed all of the post on this topic and I must be missing something.

The details....

All fuses and relays are in place...

Replaced headlight switch (MFS) with one with fog light pullout--fog light indicator lights up when switch is on...good sign eh??

I checked voltage to pin one of the relay and i have 12v there.

I can hear the relay engaging when the switch is pulled out.

but still dont have lights?? I checked voltage at the plug that plus into lights and I got nothing.

So what am i missing??

thanks

Which fuses did you install ? ( and there is only 1 relay, not relays )

If you jumper the fog lamp relay socket across the normally open contacts, they should illuminate if everything else is correct.

This is pin #3 to pin #5.
