Hello everyone,

My name is Tony (Mobile, Al FFinest),

I have a 2004 Lariat Supercrew 5.4 with 130,000 on her, I'm okay with the annoying *** tapping that the dealership says they can't do anything about, can anyone help me with the sudden loss of cruise control that the dealership can't seem to fix????????????????

Thanks,
Tony

Thanks for responding SSCULLY,
The horn and radio work fine,I had a small problem back here at the beginning of winter ,in which my throttle would cause me to shut down, my airbag light would come on and stay on,my engine light would come on , come to find out it was my battery going dead so I replaced it and haven't had those problems since, it's just the cruise want come on!!

AND, you've verified that ALL your brake lights, including the 3rd one, are working fine?

The only other 2 things that can be checked ( without a IDS ) are :

1. The Cruise Control switches
2. The Cruise Control Disconnect Switch.

If the CC disconnect switch is always on, the CC won't set.

The Cruise Control Disconnect switch is mounted on the top of the brake pedal, with 2 wires to it.

You can unplug the connector, and check the switch with a meter, set to ohms.
With the brake pedal off, the switch should read open, press on the brake, and the ohms should drop to 100 or less ( less thatn 100 if your meter has new batteries in it ).
