Could use some help im confused
ok so i just went out to my truck to go home from a buddies i click the unlock button head lgiht dont come on like normal on the yellow lights turn on weird. i start the truck and neither of them turn on, i flip it from auto to manual head light on the switch. The yellows go on and the interior lights go on but neither head light goestays on on auto and manual. As im driving i figure ill see if the high beams work, so yes the highs work on both but neither light work on normal head lights. Can anyone help me with this problem? I would like to drive my truck at ngiht so i figure maybe ill start by looking at the fuses? Im very confused i havent ever seen this before can anyone tell me what going on with my truck?
thanks yall
thanks yall
Not sure what you mean by the parking lamps turn on weird.
If I read it correctly, when you turn the main headlamp switch to the head position, the parking lamps and the interior lamps came on at the same time ?
Good place to start is with checking the fuse for both the L & R low beams.
To test the fuses, you need to have the main headlamp switch in the head position, and the MFS pulled back, else when you put the meter on each side to of the fuse, it will be dead. test 1 side to ground with a meter, then check the other side to ground. This also will test the MFS function for the low beam.
If this tests good, next to do the same test on the bulb connector. If you have power there, same as no-mams posted, new bulb time.
You have auto lamps.
Any modifications ? ( HID, fog lamp mod, etc )
Do you have DRLs ?

The fuses for the low beams are 2, and another 1 for the high beam for a total of 3 fuses.
Right side low is fuse #23
Left side low is fuse # 25
High beam is fuse # 35
If you need a copy of the manual, you can download the PDF from Ford :
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp
Always good to have this in addition to the paper copy, so you can search for a keyword, and find stuff quicker.
The fog lamp question was about the change for the factory operation, does not apply to your install.
The fuse panel is in the passenger side kick panel where the fuel inertia switch is at. You will see a finger hole to pull the panel towards the back of the truck ( pivots like a door on the front tabs ), and then you will see the cover on the fuse panel. Fuse panel only has the location number map on it.

Could also be you were driving on 1 headlamp for a few days, the aftermarket fog lamps were covering this up ( light fill ).
If you think about it, theoretically they should always go out at the same time, at least within hours of each other.
They run the same amount of time, at the same wattage with the same voltage levels, and the given AMP draw for the voltage level they have at the time.
The fact that lights can go out at different times, most of the time is the variance in the manufacturing of the bulb.
I just replaced my 2nd driving lamp bulb, the other bulb was replaced 5 or 6 months ago, and they were in a 2 pack of bulbs, installed at the same time.
