dome light, windsheild wipers and washer fluid pump problems

I have a 1999 f-150, v-6 and all at once the dome light, windsheild wipers and washer fluid pump all quit working! All of the fuses are fine and I never smelled anything burnt and all seems to be with relays. Anyone have an idea?? If so, please let me know! Thanx

If you pull the Interior lamp relay, and jumper the Normally open contacts, do the interior lamps go on ?

Same for the washer pump relay.

The thing they all have in common is the GEM, this is why I am asking about removing the GEM from controlling the relays.

Relay socket view, and what to jumper to test

OK, if jumpering the relay socket works for the wipers, that shows everything on the wiper side is OK.

The GEM is the Generic Electrical Module, it controls all sort of items, from the time delay on the wipers to the time delay on the accessory delay circuit ( how long your Power windows work, after shutting off the key and before opening the door ).

The Interior lamp, does it work manually ? Have you checked the bulb ?
Do you get a door open indicator on the cluster ?
- This could be a faulty door switch, this is the reason for the line of questions.
I am going to say the wipers are a MFS ( Multi Function Switch ) that needs cleaning ( the contacts can get dirt in them ).

Here is a thread on the MFS cleanings, and how the end of the MFS ( wiper control ) contacts should be accessed.

Might be worth a try, as if it has been dry the slightly farther south you are from me ( as I am guessing it has been for the most part since JUN ) I would say the GEM is last in line, and we need to check this as 2 different problems.

Assuming the bulb in the cluster is not burnt out, that means the door switch is not working. This is good news.

Might want to replace that bulb, it should work manually, even without the door.
