How do reverse sensors come out of bumper?
I have an 06 4x4 and the rear sensors stopped working. The button on the dash stays illuminated "off." So I looked underneath and can't figure out how to push the sensors out of the bumper. Any suggestions?
Remove the connector on the back of the parking aid sensor.
Next there should be tabs on the side of the mounting ring, these should be bent outward.
Once all of them are release ( pried outwards from body of sensor ) , the sensor pulls in from the back ( towards the spare tire )
Try a quick explanation of how it should look.
The outside face ( away from rear of truck ) is a mounting ring.
This ring installed from the outside, and the ring stops is from falling through the bumper ( to the frame side ).
So what you see from the back of the truck is the mounting ring. This stays in the bumper.
The sensor itself is installed from under the truck ( from the spare tire towards the bumper ) into the mounting ring.
Hope that makes sense and helps at the same time.
