There could certainly be a missing fuse. Why don't you look?

Not sure what "97 expo cabe" is, is this an Expedition or F150 ?

The fog lamps, if the wiring is correct, should only need the 2 fuses, and the fog lamp relay.
You did see those were 2 different fuse boxes, correct ?

If the switch installed was from a 00-03 then it will not work correctly.

If you have the fuses installed, pull the fog lamp relay, and jumper the Normally Open contacts, and the fog lamps should illuminate.

Half ISO relay ( think that is the one on the '97 )

sorry its a 97 expedition it was wired from the factory with the fog light harnis but it didnt have the foglights just the plastic inserts so i put the lights in and pluged them up. i checked the fuses for them under the hood and in the truck and they were good but i dont remember seeing anything about a relay i will look in the manual again tomorrow and see if i see the relay. so all i need to do is jumper the 3 and 5 on the relay socket and see if they come on is that right

theirs one fuse under the hood for them which is good and their is another under the dash they both were in place and good they were nto blown i think i read somewhere that the switch might night have the contacts in it to turn the lamps on if it didnt have the lamps from the factory.

That is correct, just wanted to make sure you were looking at the correct fuses ( no note of which #9 and #27 you checked ).

One thing to keep in mind, these are the 1997 F150 EVTM pages, so there could be some difference to your Expedition.

The switch, I don't see how it was wired from the factory, but as long as it had the fog lamp icon on it, and when you pull it out, the fog lamp icon illuminates, you know you Fuse # 27 in the junction box is good.
That part is good to go, without the fog lamp relay installed.

When do tried that, you had the main headlamp switch in the head position, and the MFS was in the low beam position ?

When you pull out on the switch, there should be a positive click when pulled out. Make sure it is not the first stage to removing the main headlamp switch **** ( non fog lamp switches )

Did you jumper the fog lamp relay terminals ?

Does your switch look like this ?

Note where it says pull for fogs

Might have this configuration, but I think this is the newer than your MY

That means you are pulling it to the 1st click to remove it, you do not have a fog lamp switch.

Ford didn't have the same switch in all models. There are 4 different models.

Main headlamp switch w/o Autolamps w/o Fog
Main headlamp switch w/o Autolamps w/ fog
Main headlamp switch w/ Autolamps w/o Fog
Main headlamp switch w/ Autolamps w/ Fog

Thought it was a bit strange that you had the switch from the factory, but no fog lamps.
