fog lamps issues

If you want to pull the switch out, you are looking for the white w/ black stripe wire.
From what I have run into, the 97-99 did not have everything on them, so I would not expect to see that wire back there.

If the wire is not in the main headlamp switch connector, then it might be a pain to try to wire it 100% factory.
If you get the switch, you can use it for installing with a relay if you wanted to go that route.
Else, we go on with wiring as a set of added aux lamps, and you install a regular SPST switch

Ok thinks alot for the help im gonna pull the switch and see if the wire is their if not i will wire it up through a relay and just run the switch wire to the headlight switch wire that cuts the headlights on

i pulled the switch and their are three harneses that are plugged into it the two big ones on the left and middle do not have a white wire with black strip on them the one all the way to the right only has 2 wires hooked to it and they both are white with 2 black stripe it looks like they plug in right behind the interior light on the switch

The black w/ white stripe should be on pin 4, that sounds like it ( look at the diagram above, shows the wiring to the fog lamp relay.
Pin 1 should be black, pin 2 should be violet on the connector that the fog lamps is on.
If you have fuse 27 installed, pin #1 in the fog lamp relay socket should have power to it any time the main headlamp switch is on the head position, and the MFS is in the low beam position.
Use the 1/2 ISO diagram above to locate pin #1, and use a ground on the truck, not in #2 ( that requires the switch ).

i got it taken care of i didnt see any of the factory wireing for the fogs behind the switch so i wired them up through a relax and taped into the headlight switch that way they are on when the headlights are somethin happened to the battery to and it hot messed up wouldnt hold anything over 12 volts so i ended up getting a optima its been a expensive weekin
